Brand Introduction: Asquith London - A sustainble activewear brand

It's been more than a year since I first started out moving away from Fast Fashion brands and started researching more about its impacts on planet and people. Ever since I've been boycotting Fast Fashion chains, I've been exploring more Fair Fashion brands. However, I found it quite hard to come across a suitable eco-friendly and fair alternative for activewear - until I came across Asquith London.

Asquith London is an ethical and sustainable activewear brand from the UK that offers a range of yoga and pilates wear. Their clothes, offering a great variety of Bamboo yoga tops over Bamboo yoga pants to leggins, are produced in a family-run factory in Turkey offering safe and fair working conditions to their employees. The designs are simple and therefore made to last. Further, they offer plus-sizes in order to accomodate every body type.
The founder behind the brand is Alice Asquith who is herself a passionate Yoga and Pilates practitioner. Her aim was to create a range of ethical yoga and pilates clothes that made its wearer feel comfortable and confident in their skin. Also, making something that is not constrained to the yoga mat, but that could be worn throughout the day.

The first thing that is noticeable when touching the clothes is that the fabric is extremely soft. Unlike many synthetic active wear that doesn't allow the skin to breathe, the natural fabric at Asquith London is breathable-therefore also sweat absorbing. The materials they use are made from Bamboo viscose, organic cotton (GOTS certified) or Bambor - which is their trademark fabric made from a mix of organic cotton, bamboo and elastane.
What is great about Bamboo is that it has a low-impact on the environment and it is a ressource that regrows very fast, up to 91cm a day in fact. As a material, bamboo has antibacterial properties and is durable, yet very flexible, which makes it a great source for ethical activewear.

So if you're looking for some great sustainable activewear that is on top of that extremely comfy, check out Asquith London for more information.
