about me

I’ve always been interested in the story beneath the surface.

The idea behind the business.
The person behind the brand.
The feeling behind the image.
The reason something matters in the first place.

That curiosity has shaped almost everything I’ve done.

I’m Nina — a Swiss-Dutch creative strategist, web designer, photographer and storyteller based between Cape Town and Switzerland.

My work moves between strategy, design, photography and storytelling, but the thread has always been the same:

helping people give shape to something that matters to them.

My career has taken a few turns.

I studied Design Management in Switzerland, where I became fascinated by the space between creativity and strategy — not just how something looks, but why it exists, who it is for and how people connect with it.

From there, my work moved through blogging, social media, digital strategy, content creation, photography, branding and web design.

I spent years building audiences online, working with brands, travelling, creating content and learning how ideas move from a person’s head into something other people can actually see, understand and care about.

Eventually, photography became a bigger part of my work. Then websites. Then brand strategy.
Then storytelling in all its different forms.

On paper, it can look like a collection of separate careers.

To me, it has always felt like one long exploration of the same thing:
how we communicate what matters.

THE NOT-SO-LINEAR VERSION

I’m drawn to work with meaning behind it.

I love good design, beautiful images and that moment when the right strategy suddenly makes everything click. But what interests me most is what sits underneath all of that: the person who genuinely cares about what they’re building, the brand trying to do things a little differently, the organisation working toward something positive, or the creative trying to make work that actually feels like their own.

I’m naturally drawn to projects around creativity, sustainability, mental wellbeing, personal growth and social or environmental impact. Not because I think everything we create needs to change the world, but because I do believe that what we choose to make, support and give our attention to matters.

A little strategy. A lot of curiosity.

I ask a lot of questions because I want to understand what you’re really trying to say before deciding how it should look or take shape. I care about clarity, beauty and strategy, but never at the expense of personality. I’m not interested in squeezing people or businesses into the same formula just because it happens to be popular.

The best work, to me, usually lives somewhere between structure and intuition: enough direction to know where we’re going, and enough openness for something unexpected to emerge.

A website. A photoshoot. A story. A film.
Or an idea that hasn’t quite found its shape yet.

Have something you want to bring into the world?
